Built for engineers who live in the terminal

One command to install. Zero workflow changes. Prompt Cellar works where you work—in the terminal.

Setup in 30 seconds

Three commands. That's it.

npm install -g @promptcellar/pc
pc login
pc setup

Done. Every prompt you send from now on is captured automatically.

Terminal-native design

No Electron apps. No browser extensions. Just a CLI that does its job.

Lightweight hooks

The capture mechanism is a thin hook (Claude Code) or shell wrapper (Codex, Gemini). Negligible overhead. No background processes eating RAM.

Works with any terminal

iTerm, Warp, Alacritty, Kitty, Windows Terminal, VS Code terminal—if your AI tool runs there, Prompt Cellar captures from there.

API keys per device

Each machine gets its own API key with a name you choose. Revoke a key without affecting your other devices. Manage keys from the dashboard.

Full REST API

Everything the CLI does, the API exposes. Build custom integrations, automate workflows, or connect to other tools in your stack.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Prompt Cellar?

Run 'npm install -g @promptcellar/pc', then 'pc login' and 'pc setup'. Setup installs the capture hooks for your AI tools. The whole process takes under a minute.

Does Prompt Cellar work on macOS, Linux, and Windows?

Yes. The CLI works on macOS, Linux, and Windows. The capture hooks work with any terminal emulator. If your AI tool runs in the terminal, Prompt Cellar can capture from it.

Do I need to change how I use my AI tools?

No. After setup, you use Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini exactly as before. The capture hook runs silently in the background. No new commands to learn, no workflow changes.

What's the difference between the CLI and the web dashboard?

The CLI captures prompts from your terminal. The web dashboard is where you search, browse, and manage your captured prompts. The CLI writes; the dashboard reads.

Can I use the CLI without the web dashboard?

The CLI is primarily for capture and setup. Searching, browsing, and managing prompts happens in the web dashboard. Both work together as one system.

Is there an API for automation?

Yes. Prompt Cellar has a full REST API for capturing, retrieving, and managing prompts. The CLI uses this API internally. You can use it for custom integrations or automation.
